Bodhisattva Vow Preparatory Talk (Berkeley)

with Shastri Sandra Ladley

March 9th (2014)

Date details +

A wonderful opportunity for anyone wishing to take a heartfelt step on the Shambhala Buddhist path.
Please note that this class takes place in Berkeley.

Planting such a seed as the bodhisattva vow undermines ego and leads to a tremendous expansion of perspective. Such heroism, or bigness of mind, fills all of space completely, utterly, absolutely. Within such a vast perspective, nothing is claustrophobic and nothing is intimidating. There is only the vast idea of unceasingly helping all sentient beings, as limitless as space, along the path to enlightenment…
    —Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche

In order to prepare for taking the Bodhisattva Vow, aspirants must have taken the Refuge Vow and be practicing regularly. You should have a Meditation Instructor or teacher who can complete the MI Recommendation form to support your application. It’s best if you are affiliated with a Shambhala Center. If you have any questions about these guidelines, please contact the Coordinator as soon as possible.

Please see the Bodhisattva Vow description for more detailed information.
